A "Sweet" way to Pray
I just love M&M's and they offer a fun way to pray with children. Sometimes children only think about praying for the same things over and over which is great except that they don't add any other prayer request or adoration to God in their prayers. M&M's are a fun way to broaden their worldview and help them put some thoughts behind their prayers.
Give each child one of each color of M&M and go around the room asking for them to think of a prayer request relating to that color.
Example - Blue=The people in the world who need clean drinking water, Green=Farmers and their crops, Red=Thanking Jesus for shedding his blood for us!
After prayer the kids can eat them as you remind them how "sweet" it is for us to talk to Jesus!
EASY OBJECT LESSON
WRITE IT DOWN IN PENCIL!!! - It has some great POINTS!
A pencil is a great object to use in a lesson. Think about it.
Here are just a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing!!!
1. God is writing a beautiful story with our lives.
2. The pencil is controlled by whoever is holding it. Let God have control of your life.
3. Most pencils have erasers for when we mess up. Jesus came to erase our sin (mess ups).
4. If you don't pick up a pencil it is worth nothing but if we use it, it can create almost anything. Gods word can transform us but we have to pick it up.
5. When we invite Jesus into our hearts he writes our name in the lamb's book of life.
What ideas pop into your head?
Hand each child a new pencil at the end of the lesson to remind them of this lesson.
Remember to add scripture to each of these pencil points to complete the object lesson.
DO YOU WANNA BUILD A SNOWMAN?????
Idea for Winter Lesson
WHITE SNOW
Without God and his love for us we would be like the dirty winter ground but like fresh new snow, God sent His son Jesus to cover our dirty sin. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18
ROUND SNOW BALLS
Have you ever tried to make a square snowman? Of course not! We take snow and form a small ball then roll in to pick up the new snow to form our snowman. This reminds me that God was not created. He always was and will always be. Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." God planned on sending Jesus from the very beginning of time. Sin did not surprise Him, He was ready to fix the problem!
CARROT NOSE
Reminds me that we are living beings. We were born! God created Adam from the dust of the ground, carrots come from the ground. Carrots are dirty when harvested. We were born “dirty” in our Sin! God can clean us and make us beautiful and useful! Gen. 2:7 Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
COAL MOUTH
Once we are born we have a choice to make. In order to “wake up” and fully live in the joy of our Lord’s forgiveness and let God “clean us” from our sin we need to use our mouth and ask Him to clean us up! Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ...
HAT
In “Frosty the Snowman” It was the hat that brought Frosty to life. Before the Hat he was just an ordinary snowman with no life in him at all, but with the Hat Frosty came to life!!!! Without Jesus (Our Hat) we are dead in our sin. With Jesus we are alive and will live forever! Now that’s a Hat! 1 John 5:11 God has given us eternal life...And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The Hat also sits on top the snowman and reminds us that we need to put God above all else in order to live a wonderful life!
