Start on Monday to be ready for Sunday!

Best advice I have on this entire Site! Read IT!!!!!

No matter what your occupation, a stay home mom, a secretary, a school teacher or a children's pastor, we all are busy people. We know that many times our Sunday children's ministry prep starts on Saturday evening in a scramble to gather all the necessary items required to teach our lesson. We read over the lesson and begin to look for every angle we can and try to pull off a great lesson in an hour. If this is you, drop the guilt and read on! We've all "been there, done that" but give this article a chance and implement the Monday read through and I guarantee it will relieve stress and make your lessons amazing!!!

You've just taught on Sunday and the last thing you want to do is think about next Sunday on Monday but you have those little ones fresh on your mind and heart and know what worked and what flopped! Monday evening or on your lunch break or while you are waiting to pick your child up from school or at gymnastics do a read through of your next lesson. I like a Sunday afternoon nap after teaching at two services Sunday morning so I pick up the lesson and read it as I'm relaxing for a nap! Read the Bible story or listen to the Bible story on your Bible app. Refresh yourself with the Bible verse and theme of the week. Casually enjoy the lesson without any prep in mind.

Once you have the basics of the lesson read you will be amazed at how God will bring it to your mind all week long. You will hear songs on the radio that remind you of it. You will walk into the grocery store and think of a cool snack that coordinates. You will think of illustrations that happen in your own home that week that you can share with the class. You will pick up Sunday lesson supplies when you make a trip to the dollar store for your own family needs. When your on FB you may check out a couple of ideas on the web. Before you know it Saturday night roles around and you are almost ready for Sunday and you didn't have to scramble, stress, cram for the Bible story or figure out what to do at the last minute. You just get to put the icing on the cake instead of gather all the ingredients, bake, and then decorate! Saturday will be fun and enjoyable and you will already know the lesson inside and out, not because you spent hours cramming but because you simply read though it early enough for God to use your life throughout the week to fill the lesson in! If every teacher would try this simple strategy our Junior churches and Sunday Schools would be amazing!!!!! I challenge you read ahead and let God's word through a simple lesson change you and make your class 100% better and more enjoyable for both you and the students!
